Saudi Scholarship for Developing Football Talent, a project powered by the Ministry of Sports of Saudi Arabia, is organizing the Saudi version of the AL ABTAL INTERNATIONAL CUP, to be played in the eastern region of the country with the participation of 6 teams.
The competition will be held during the period between the eighth and twentieth day of Ramadan, corresponding to April 20 and May 2. The competition will involve Al-Ittifaq, Al-Fateh, Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Nasr clubs and two teams from Saudi Scholarship for Developing Football Talent. The teams will be divided into two groups and the winners of each group will compete in the final.
The tournament will begin with two matches at the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam. After that, the participating teams will enjoy a two-day rest before the competition resumes with two more matches on the second day: the first at the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam and the second at the Prince Saud bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium in Al-Rakah. The group stage will conclude with the third and final matchday at the same stadiums on April 28. The great final will take place on May 2 at the Prince Saud City Stadium.
It is worth noting that Saudi Scholarship for Developing Football Talent teams performed well and showed outstanding levels in the International AL ABTAL INTERNATIONAL CUP held in Spain with the participation of Atlético de Madrid, FC Barcelona, Valencia CF, UD Almería, Nastic de Tarragona, Real Zaragoza, Cornellá and Rayo Majadahonda.
Saudi Scholarship for Developing Football Talent will complete its program in the Eastern Region before the Eid al-Fitr vacations. Afterwards, the players will travel outside the country to complete their training.
