FC Barcelona can lay claim to two things: firstly, a remarkable history, and secondly a well-deserved reputation for nurturing its young players; and the latter has contributed to the club’s achievement of incredible feats in recent years. Founded in 1899 by Swiss football pioneer, Hans Gamper, Barça has accumulated 26 League titles, 30 Copas del Rey and 13 Spanish Super Cups, as well as 5 Champions League titles, 5 European Super Cups, 4 Recopas and 3 FIFA Club World Cup titles, among many others.
The Barça youth squad has produced more than its fair share of football megastars, including Leo Messi, Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta, Pep Guardiola, Carles Puyol, Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets and a long list of other talented players. At present, the club’s youth team competes in the División de Honor Spanish youth league and features a group of young players who are more than aware of being in a club that can open doors for them at any time.
