At the moment, Real Zaragoza plays in Spain’s Second Division. Nonetheless, we should not forget that the Aragonese club has enjoyed more than its fair share of glory. Since its founding in 1932, Zaragoza has won 6 Cups, 1 Super Cup and 1 European Cup Winners’ Cup. Moreover, it remains ninth in the historical classification of La Liga. Therefore, it is almost inevitable that at some point, the team will re-enter the First Division to thunderous applause from its fans at the Romareda stadium.
Ander Herrera, currently at Paris Saint-Germain, is undoubtedly the best youth squad player to come out of Zaragoza in recent seasons. Other illustrious names in the club’s history include Cani, José Luis Violeta, Javier Planas, Enrique Porta, Víctor Muñoz, Paco Güerri and Javier Villarroya. Its youth team also participates in the División de Honor.
